A company logo is more than a pretty picture

Your logo as a timeless symbol of your brand

Are you part of an organization that – because of its foundation, a name change, repositioning, merger or fresh start – wants to have a logo designed? You are looking for a visual mark that holds that intangible “something” characteristic of leading international brands. A powerful symbol that is instantly recognisable, evokes emotion and lingers in the subconscious of your audience. Behind every successful logo there is thoughtful symbolism that encapsulates a brand’s essence in one image.

A strong logo is not only visually appealing, but also harmoniously constructed. My approach is deeply rooted in the quadrivium – the classical teaching of mathematics, geometry, music and astronomy. This centuries-old system regards patterns as the fundamental building blocks of order and meaning, and I apply that philosophy in my designs. A good logo follows proportions such as the golden ratio, breathes rhythm like music, and radiates a timeless harmony that we intuitively recognise. From the proportions within a visual mark to the resonance of colour and form: the principles of the quadrivium ensure that a logo is not just seen, but felt.

Why symbolism is essential in a logo

Symbols speak a language we understand intuitively. They evoke emotion without words and give a brand depth. A circle feels harmonious, a triangle projects strength, and a spiral stands for growth and evolution. Colours have an equally profound impact: blue exudes trust, red invokes energy, gold breathes luxury. Major brands use these insights intelligently. And you can too. A powerful logo is not just a design, but a visual anchor that conveys the core of your brand.

The power of geometry and colour

A well-designed logo is deliberate in form and colour. Specific patterns, lines and icons support your branding, while others may create noise. Geometry gives your logo structure and meaning: a square feels stable and reliable, a wavy line dynamic and playful. A consistent style creates a sense of familiarity with your audience. Colour psychology plays a major role in how people experience your brand. Green evokes freshness and balance, while black projects power and exclusivity. By combining these elements strategically, a logo can be both visually compelling and subconsciously impactful.

The power of mythology in logo design

Mythology is more than ancient stories – it is a reservoir of timeless symbolism and archetypes deeply embedded in our collective consciousness. Brands that harness these primal images communicate a universal language that immediately resonates. A well-designed logo does not just deliver a visual identity, it tells a story rooted in age-old meaning. Which myth fits your brand?

My working method: from essence to form

Your brand is unique. That’s why I don’t start with sketches, but with listening and reading. With this approach I ensure your brand isn’t only visually appealing, but also strategically and symbolically well-founded:

1. The first encounter

Your brand is a mystery to be unravelled. We begin with a personal meeting or by completing my questionnaire – not a superficial introduction, but a deep dive into the soul of your company. Which values must come through? Which emotion must it evoke? This is the foundation. Without this, no magic.

2. The withdrawal

I retreat into my “laboratory”. The outside world fades. Here, surrounded by books on symbolism, ancient esoteric science and a desk full of sketches, I deconstruct the essence of your brand. Which forms, colours and archetypes speak the language you want to convey? This is the moment of observation and discovery.

3. The experiment

The first outlines emerge. Ideas mix, interact, crystallise. Several visual directions are developed, each with a deeper layer of meaning. No random strokes, no trendy gimmicks – everything has a reason, an origin, a connection to the larger whole.

4. Refinement

Out of chaos comes order. Based on your feedback I refine the design until everything falls into place. Here shapes obtain their definitive strength, lines their sharpness and colours their emotional charge.

5. The revelation

The moment of unveiling. You receive not just a logo, but a visual identity with significance. All files and guidelines are prepared to launch your brand consistently and powerfully into the world. The process is complete.
